Description of MS M.791 fol. 58v

Joshua: Conquest of Jericho -- In upper half of initial, two groups of Israelites approach city of Jericho, falling. To left, one Israelite carries bannered lance, one a sword and another shield, both standing next to tree. Four wear helmets. At right all wear helmets and two of the five carry shields. Below, four priests carry Ark of Covenant placed on draped poles. They are flanked by Israelites, some carrying spears and shields, two wearing helmets, one blowing horn and one holding bannered spear.
Scene within initial E against background of gold, decorated with geometric and foliate ornament.
Beginning of Joshua.
Initial T decorated with foliate ornament and fantastic animals at beginning of Prologue to Joshua.
