Description of MS M.283 fol. 1v

Medallion 1:
Month, Occupation: January -- Two-faced Janus, wearing cap, sits behind table surmounted by loaves and platter containing pig's head. He holds drinking cup in right hand and another object, possibly beaker, in left hand. Two pitchers are at ends of table.
Medallion 2:
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius -- Seated figure, partially nude, pours water from vessel.
