Description of MS M.126 fol. 20r

1) Confessio Amantis: Scene, Capaneus struck by Lightning -- Capaneus, wearing gold helmet and armor, next to halberd, reclines amid flames on ground and is struck by lightning bolt (flames) from above. Stream of water (?) also comes from sky toward Capaneus. Behind him stands large group of soldiers, wearing helmets and armor, some holding short swords.
Scene in landscape with trees, road strewn with rocks, and walled city of Thebes in background, all beneath blue starry sky.
2) Confessio Amantis: Scene, King of Hungary greeting Pilgrims -- Pilgrim, holding walking stick, is embraced at shoulders and kissed by King of Hungary, wearing crown and tunic lined with vair. At right the King, crowned, appears again, mounting or dismounting bridled horse, accompanied by four men, one, wearing sheathed sword at waist, astride bridled horse.
Scene in landscape with trees, city in background, all beneath blue sky with gold clouds.
