Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, rays as nimbus, wearing loin cloth, bleeding from wounds, is affixed with three nails to tau-cross. Mary Magdalen, nimbed, kneeling, grasps base of the cross.
To left, Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, hands joined, swooning, is supported by Evangelist John. Two Holy Women, nimbed, appear behind her.
To right, the Centurion, wearing pointed hat, mounted, raises right hand toward the Christ. He is followed by group of men, including soldiers.
In left and right margins framing central scene, two thieves, wearing short loin cloths, bleeding from wounds, are affixed to tau-crosses with rope.
Christ: Casting of Lots for Garments -- Below, in lower margin, three men, one with sword at waist, cast lots over garments of Christ. They are flanked by two prophets, wearing hats, within architectural niches. First prophet is beside scroll inscribed DIUISERUNT SIBI UESTAMENTA MEA, and second prophet writes on scroll inscribed ET SUPER UESTE(M) MEA(M), both quotations from Psalm 22:18 (Vulg., 21:19).

1) Christ: Deposition -- In top right corner of border, Nicodemus, on ladder, grasping right arm of Christ, rays as nimbus, wearing short loin cloth, removes nail with pincers. Joseph of Arimathea, on ladder against left arm of cross, grasps His shoulders and lowers Him into arms of Evangelist John, nimbed, standing below. Mary Magdalen, nimbed, standing, and Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, seated on ground, look on.
2) Holy Women: watching Sepulcher -- In middle of right border, Mary Magdalen, nimbed, and two holy women advance toward sepulcher below.
3) Christ: Entombment -- Below, within sepulcher carved into side of rocky outcropping, holy woman, nimbed, Virgin Mary, rays as nimbus, veiled, look on as Nicomedus, Evangelist John, nimbed, and Joseph of Arimathea carry body of Christ, rays as nimbus, on linen toward sarcophagus.
4) Christ: Harrowing of Hell -- In lower left corner of border, Christ, rays as nimbus, wounds visible, partially draped, holding cross-staff, tramples door of hell, under which are two demons. He grasps hands of Adam, stepping over door, followed by Eve and several figures issuing from within burning building.

Scene framed by historiated border with continuous landscape in which the following scenes occur:
1) David: fetched by Messenger -- In top left corner, on rocky outcropping, messenger, carrying staff, and Jesse approach David, tending flock of sheep.
2) David: slaying Bear -- Opposite, in upper right border, David slays bear with sword.
3) David: arming himself before Saul -- Saul, with two attendants, places breastplate of armor on David.
4) David: slinging at Goliath -- David swings slingshot above head towards Goliath, wearing armor, holding sword in left hand.
Below, (David: beheading Goliath) David raises sword above slain Goliath lying on ground.
5) David: Glorification -- David, holding object (obscured by abrasion) followed by Saul, mounted on horseback, with attendant, and entourage of mounted soldiers, advances toward four women. 1) David: Spoiling of Goliath -- In the lower border, within building, David, with two attendants including one holding raised sword, looks on as two men, one on ladder, raise breastplate of Goliath. The rest of his armor lies on ground beneath ladder. To right, draped altar with tabernacle and two tablets.
2) David: given Michal in Marriage -- Outside building in front of entrance, Saul, crowned, looks on as high priest, wearing vestments, raises right hand above joined hands of David and Michal, crowned. Three female attendants, including one holding bottom of her mantle, follow Michal. Two men, standing behind high priest, look on.
3) Saul: hurling Javelin at David -- In right border, within building, Saul, flanked by two attendants, seated on throne behind which is patterned hanging, aims sword held in right hand at David, holding harp.
4) David: Saul's Spear taken -- In top right corner, Abishai and David, both wearing armor, take spear and pitcher from Saul, reclining in cave within rocky outcropping, asleep.
5) David: at Engedi -- Above, to right, David, wearing armor, cuts hem of Saul's robe with knife.
6) David: Saul's Spear returned -- Above, atop rocky outcropping, David raises pitcher, held in right hand, and bannered spear, held in left hand, above his head. Abishai stands beside him, holding spear.
